The issue and main reason of mis-information about tinnitus is that it is a catch-all term for a collection of issues that result in the patient hearing noises in their ears. Some causes can already be treated while others are still being researched.

It is impossible to predict if there will be new cures for tinnitus in 2011 because some areas are still a little grey. However, with that said, 2011 is likely to see continued refinement of existing technology as well as further research into the exact causes of the ringing noises.

Many likely causes are known but there is still a lack of understanding into the specifics. Many likely sources have been identified that are understood to trigger it or make it worse.

Some of these include;

Noise exposure

Head and neck trauma

A build up of ear Wax

Jaw misalignment

Some medications

Much of the time, tinnitus can be cured, its only in exceptional circumstances such as extreme noise exposure that it cant. There's a lot of things that you can do and if you havent got them yet, take a look at these self help ebooks.

As mentioned earlier, If you are suffering from permanent tinnitus as a result of over-exposure to extreme noise then this is usually the only case where a cure is unlikely; with that said the same rules apply as with any other cause of tinnitus.

The following may help to treat the condition but much of the time the symptoms are likely to go away in time;

A tinnitus hearing aid - if your hearing has suffered as a result

A tinnitus masker - these hide the tinnitus sounds by emitting white noise

Tinnitus retraining Therapy

People that suffer from tinnitus experience noises in one or both ears. Sometimes it can even sound like the noises are coming from inside their head.

The noises that they hear come in many different sounds and volumes. Indeed, while some people hear quite soft sounds many others report their experience as unbearable.

The most common noises reported are buzzing, ringing and whistling. The noises can also change and some people even report that they hear more than one noise at a time. This has been attributed to the fact that different things can cause the initial onset. People that are stressed, for example, might find that they hear different noises depending on their stress levels.

A lot of research has gone into recreating these sounds and it has been a process that has gone on for over 20 years. The studies have included techniques where tinnitus suffers report what they can hear in a sound proof area to make sure there is not outside interferance. These sounds then get played back to the patients by using a music synthesiser. When the noise got as close as possible to what the patient reported it is then recorded for the research purposes.

It is estimated that more than 60 million people suffer from bad cases of tinnitus. Of course, there are those than might experience the occasional ringing in the ear at some point in their lives and there are quite a few things that will cause this. The most common of which is the loud volume at music festivals and concerts. This may also happen if you stand near a speaker at any music gig.

Many people have said that their tinnitus is so bad that is a huge hinderance on their life; not only does it affect their sleep, but it is hard to concentrate at work, while driving and leads to very little time to relax. It can be quite daunting to hear these noises since there are so many different ones. They can also be constant or intermittent.

Tinnitus for a long time now has been known to affect thousands of people and many still beleive that it cannot be cured. In some cases it can also cause other problems to the sufferer like stress, irritability, anxiety and trouble sleeping.

Of course, the associated problems alone demonstrate just how much of a problem it can be. So is there really no possible cure for tinnitus?

There are currently many known cures available and most of them can be done by the individual within their own home and there are also many other studies into other cures. As an example, many people suffer a very mild form of tinnitus after they have listened to music at a concert that has been too loud whereas others might have an ear infection that a simple course of antibiotics can sort out.

Many people also note how intolerable the noises can be, but it doesnt have to be that way. There are many things you can do which can help to take the edge of the noises you are hearing. These range from specially crafted pillows that emit white noise that has been proven to reduce the volume of the ringing you can hear to various audio tapes and dvds. In fact, background noise has been confirmed by many to help them sleep and get through the night.

It can be very off putting to hear that the condition you have cannot be cured. However, with tinnitus, this is most certainly not the case. The first step in beating it is to find out what caused the onset. In some cases you will need medical help but if you are clear about your request then there are many tests that can be done to find this out. Wether it is an allergy, nerve damage, loud music or too much blood flowing through a single vein around the ear, nowadays a simple test can confirm it.

If you are reading this then I imaging that you have been told that there is no cure for ringing ears? This is actually incorrect and there is plenty that can be done to stop the ringing permanently. If you are fed up with hearing the ringing noises then read this to find out what you can do to stop them and also to learn a quick way of temporary relief.

A lot of people have to suffer unneccasarily with ringing ears because they have been misinformed that tinnitus cures are non-existent. However, there are various medical studies and fact based papers to back them up that prove this is incorrect.

Contrary to popular belief, loud music is not the only nor the most common cause of tinnitus. Some of the causes are reasons are a relative unknown and it is this area that requires further research in order to aid recovery fully. Some of the things that are often used currently include some therapy and medical procedures, both of which can take some time to show results. Therapy often involves using specially crafted sounds or behavioural therapy.

There are however plenty of other remedies, many of which can be done at home and do not require expensive drugs that may come with their own potential side effects. There are plenty of things that can cause tinnitus that are based around m
ost peoples lifestyles that often it is simply a case of removing the offending item, which could be food or cosmetics.

Of course, there may be other medical reasons, such as an ear infection, and may require help from a qualified doctor but in most instances, curing your ringing ears can be done from your own home.

After remembering that there are many things that can be done to stop your suffering, you might also want some temporary relief right now - while this isn't a cure for ringing ears it has proven to help some people stop the noises for an intermittent amount of time and is almost certainly worth a try;

This technique can be done at home, at work or whenever you think you may need to try it. However, please be sure to look seek a cure for your advice rather than relying on this technique. You can cure your ringing ears by clicking here.

To start with, place your palms over your ears, with your fingers pointing towards the back of your head. It helps to imagine you have just put some reading glasses on and just as you released them your hands are nearly in the ideal spot, but should be covering your ears. Also make sure you stretch your fingers out fully so they are wrapped around the back of your head.

Your middle fingers should be pointing each other and nearly touching. You should be able to feel the back part of your skull and your fingers should be resting just below it.When they are in position, lift your index finger and place it on top of your middle finger. You not want to snal the index finger off so it taps the back of your head, almost as if you are clicking your fingers. With your palms over your ears it should sound like a hollow drum beat.

You will need to do this several times until the ringing noises have been relieved and may take up to 50 beats.

From this article you should now realise that there is a cure for ringing ears and in a lot of cases you can do this from your own home; its often as simple as the temporary relief I have outlined above.

Have you found yourself in a situation recently where your ears wont stop ringing? Are you wondering if it is something that you might have to put up with forever? The problem doesnt just manifest itself as ringing ears however. Other noises that people often describe when highlighting their condition include the following; Ringing, bussing, clicking, hissing and whistling.

In some cases, tinnitus can be temporary and will clear up after an hour or a good nights sleep. Often, you may find your ears are buzzing after going to a festival or concert where loud music has been playing. This is common and is nothing to worry about although regular prolonged exposure may eventually lead to tinnitus that doesnt go away. The same is true when listening to any music at home or on personal stereo's and music players; If you often have it too loud then this can affect your hearing.

There are several ways to get temporary relief from tinnitus and many more ways to get rid of it permanently. In most cases, if your ears wont stop ringing, there are plenty of remedies you can do at home and do not need special
ist assistance.

Problems with the inner ear cannot be diagnosed at home although you may already suspect you have a problem especially if you have had sore ears recently.

To summarize, You need not worry too much if your ears won't stop ringing. There are plenty of things you can do, many of which can be done from the comfort of your own home

Tinnitus affects many people worldwide. Recent estimates indicate that around 12 million people in the US have have suffered or are currently suffering from it. Obviously this goes to show just how common it is - but how do you know if you have tinnitus? High pitched ringing ears is one telltale sign.

High pitched ringing ears is probably one of most well known symptoms of tinnitus, since many people refer to it as 'ringing ears' or 'ringing in the ears'. However, it is not the only way this condition manifests itself. The noises that you might hear are varied and although they do not signify certain traits, can be alarming for anyone that isnt aware of this.

Typically, the noises you may hear when you have tinnitus are: ringing, buzzing, clicking, hissing, whistling and rushing (as in flowing water).

The pitch is also varied and may even flucuate from time to time. This isn't usually a symptom that is it getting worse. High pitched ringing ears can change to a much lower pitch for no apparant reason and may just be due to normal bodily functions. Bear in mind that the noises from tinnitus are internal (inside the ear).

Likewise, the loudness can also vary and is likely to change. A lot of people perceive their tinnitus to be worse at night time. While this is true in some cases, in most however, although it seems like it is louder and is usually because there is less background noise around which means the tinnitus sounds are much more prominent. A good way to get temporary relief from this is to keep a TV or radio on in the background.

In some cases, it may clear up after a short period of time. Some people only experience it for a few hours or a day at most. This is especially common after listening to loud music or attending a concert or festival. However, in others the problem remains or continus to come back again and again even when they have no been exposed to anything excessively loud. This can be just as frustrating as having it constantly as it is harder to adjust to it and you never know when it may happen.
