Tinnitus for a long time now has been known to affect thousands of people and many still beleive that it cannot be cured. In some cases it can also cause other problems to the sufferer like stress, irritability, anxiety and trouble sleeping.
Of course, the associated problems alone demonstrate just how much of a problem it can be. So is there really no possible cure for tinnitus?
There are currently many known cures available and most of them can be done by the individual within their own home and there are also many other studies into other cures. As an example, many people suffer a very mild form of tinnitus after they have listened to music at a concert that has been too loud whereas others might have an ear infection that a simple course of antibiotics can sort out.
Many people also note how intolerable the noises can be, but it doesnt have to be that way. There are many things you can do which can help to take the edge of the noises you are hearing. These range from specially crafted pillows that emit white noise that has been proven to reduce the volume of the ringing you can hear to various audio tapes and dvds. In fact, background noise has been confirmed by many to help them sleep and get through the night.
It can be very off putting to hear that the condition you have cannot be cured. However, with tinnitus, this is most certainly not the case. The first step in beating it is to find out what caused the onset. In some cases you will need medical help but if you are clear about your request then there are many tests that can be done to find this out. Wether it is an allergy, nerve damage, loud music or too much blood flowing through a single vein around the ear, nowadays a simple test can confirm it.
